Current Projects
Our major project at this time is based on the RRS Discovery in Dundee. We completed the first phase of the project in January 2026 and then embarked on phase 2. Phase 1 seen us carry out emergency stabilisation and structural stern timber replacement. We also carried out the extensive project of recaulking the decking using traditional methods.
Phase 2 involves works on the port side hull of the ship involving replacing and conserving original timbers. We are also constructing a support cradle to ensure stability of the ship for years to come.
Large structural timbers were partly sourced locally from a mill currently being redeveloped in the ultimate recycling project.

The Citizens Theatre in Glasgow has went through a major refurbishment and have an original picture frame for painting scenery canvas. We conducted a condition survey and are now undertaking the refurbishment of the frame, the winding mechanism and bringing the structure to meet modern regulations.

Not far from the RRS Discovery we were delighted to have been awarded the contract for the refurbishment of the Whyte Melville Fountain in St Andrews. This included the dismantling, restoration and reinstatement of the fountain and the water system fully replaced to bring it back to its former working glory.

The Observatory located in the Highland Hotel in Stirling is having a refurbishment of the copper skin roof and restoration of the door and rotational mechanisms.

In 2025 The Paterson Clock in Bridge of Allan, Stirling was sadly hit by a car. Unfortunately it did not come out well. We conducted an emergency retrieval and then laid all the pieces out and conducted a condition and photographic report. We are delighted to have been awarded to job to conduct the biggest jigsaw puzzle! Saving what we can and reconstructing what we cannot.

The Black Boy Fountain in Stirling enjoyed a refurbishment from us in 2015 and had phase 2 of the project in 2026. In this phase it was given a fresh coat of paint and the base was doff cleaned, repointed and water proofed. A new pump was also installed.

The Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine are needing new doors! We have been tasked with the job of removing the Great Door and fully replacing it, the Lesser Door is being refurbished to its original glory.

Biggar Gasworks in Lanarkshire ask us to conduct a biannual inspection and seasonal preparation. Putting the machinery to bed for the winter and assessing the condition. Then opening back up in the spring with another condition survey.

Lighthouses! A copper domed exhaust cowl and wind direction arm in a state of disrepair. We are repairing and replicating damaged and corroded sections.
