Who are JPS?

We are a hard working company undertaking projects in the heritage sector.  We offer a consultancy service and a restoration service.  Attention to detail, integrity and building good working relationships are the key to our success.

Jason is a time served engineer, starting his working career in United Glass in Alloa in 1991, then moving on to Patons Woolen Mill maintaining and fixing the traditional woolen machines until it closed.  In 1997 he started as Project Manager with Heritage Engineering, leading consultants and conservators in the heritage sector.  It was here his training in Industrial Heritage really started and was lucky to have two very knowledgeable mentors and colleagues from a wide variety of industrial engineering backgrounds.   From there he went to Charles Laing & Son where he developed his role as Project Manager, taking the business from a foundry into the world of restoration.  In 2010 he decided to take the leap and start JPS and has never looked back.  The company has grown from strength to strength and his attention to detail and relationships with clients is a credit to him.  It is very much a family business, working with his brother Chris, his wife Victoria, his Dad and even managed to get the kids involved as they got older!  He also works very closely with his father in law Jim Mitchell. JPS has several additional employees and is quickly becoming a leader in its field. Restoration companies are hard to find and JPS is established as one of the best.   

In rare moments of spare time he has renovated and extended his own 19th century house, has 3 kids, likes to travel and a weakness for old cars.  There's a Capri and a Mk 2 Escort patiently waiting on him retiring....they may be waiting a while!

Victoria was raised in Stirling and got her Business Studies degree at Stirling Uni.  From there she went to work for Heritage Engineering in Lanark before running her own business in hospitality while raising their 3 kids.  Alongside her own business she also kept the admin and accounts for JPS.  After 24 years of running a successful business of her own, she decided to leave the world of catering behind and work alongside Jason and become the second Director of JPS. She still does the admin and accounts but also takes on board writing reports, ordering and generally keeping him organised!
